ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Despite the media hyped real estate slowdown, Legacy Realty, an affiliate of Alpharetta-based Chatham Holdings, is keeping pace with their success in 2006 with nearly $50 million in gross sales through June 30.
With exceptional Chatham neighborhoods like Crabapple Brook in Alpharetta; Chatham Park in Roswell; River Green , a master-planned community in Canton, Overlook at Litchfield in Roswell; and Chatham’s crowning achievement, Blue Valley located in the heart of Alpharetta horse country, Legacy has expanded its presence in north Atlanta by adding new home communities in Forsyth and Hall counties.
“Sales have been steady for us all year,” stated Pratt Farmer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Legacy Realty. “I believe our success is due in large part to our desirable neighborhood locations, our exceptional custom builder teams and our nearly sixty year presence in new home construction, sales and marketing,” he said.
In terms of gross sales, Legacy Realty is $300,000 ahead of the same period last year. The company projects an additional $50 million in gross sales by the end of the year.
“We are marketing every Chatham/Legacy neighborhood aggressively, and our sales professionals are working hard for each sale. It’s paying off. We will stay the course and look forward to exceeding our sales goals for the year,” concludes Farmer.
Chatham’s Crabapple Brook neighborhood in the city of Milton has sold nearly $9 million this year. Farmer believes that community will exceed $15 million in sales for 2007. “Crabapple Brook is a community with exceptional builders, a great location and stunning homesites,” according to Howard Chatham, one of the builders there. Mr. Chatham should know, he built his first home in north Fulton in 1948. Chatham Park in Roswell has nearly $9 million in sales this year as well. Howard Chatham has sold two homes there, valued at over $1.5 million each. While Legacy’s sales of $1 million plus homes have remained strong throughout the year, so has the market for homes in the $500’s. The company’s Lake Forest community in Forsyth is being developed by Pathway Communities. “Lake Forest has had an exceptional year with 28 sales to date. Having a strong slate of builders, experienced developer and a marketing company with recognizable brand equity pays off,” says Farmer.
“In today’s unsettled residential environment, consumers are looking to be reassured that when they buy a home in a neighborhood under development that it will be finished; and we fully understand that,” stated David Chatham, CEO of Chatham Holdings. Since its inception in 1948 Chatham has developed over 225 residential neighborhoods representing 5500 homesites. “Our experience this year demonstrates to us that there is still a market for a superior home in a stable development. We have seen good and bad markets. While we are not in the best of times, we firmly believe it’s not as bad as some would lead you to believe,” Chatham states.
